![]() Putting the file outside the retroarch directory and changing the bios. The problem is that retroarch wont recognize the bios. We take videogame preservation seriously and want to ensure you can run your originally bought content on modern day PCs. Trying to play SotN, according to the compatibility list I should be using 1001. In addition to this, you will soon be able to run original game discs (CDs) from RetroArch. Settings are also unified so configuration is done once and for all. While it can do many things besides this, it is most widely known for enabling you to run classic games on a wide range of computers and consoles through a slick graphical interface. Plus it actually has openGL support which might give a nice speed boost. Being that the original author is doing the coding for the retroarch core (duckstation), there is a better change it will be better optimized. What's nice is there will be improvements hopefully soon when it'll be possible to fully rely on Vulkan/OpenGL backends.RetroArch is an open source and cross platform frontend/framework for emulators, game engines, video games, media players and other applications. You're not wrong, but PCSX rearmed is a fork of a fork. ![]() This emulator is really an amazing piece of software and I'm so glad to have a fully working PSX emu now. To be fair lr-PCSX-ReARMed did also a pretty good job for many years (thanks to authors/maintainers) and still does but in term of stability, compatibility, sound and image quality lr-duckstation is superior on pi4. Bios I've been using for the whole test session is "scph101.bin". Youre not wrong, but PCSX rearmed is a fork of a fork. I just set Log level to "none" instead of the default. ![]() cheers ps: the difference between them is about license.DuckStation will likely be freeware rather than opensource from now on. For max compatibility the Crop setting should be set on "none" so up to the users to decide what's best for their setup. with time probably only the Swanstation will exist. For these the Crop "only overscan" will do just fine. All the games Ive emulate with retroarch and CHD format has audio problems like music that doesnt play at the moment that it must or audio tracks that doesnt play at all. The problem comes when trying to play playstation roms I have tried with both cores Beetle PSX HW. The remaining 5% are usually 2D games, FMVs or still images (loading screens) that will flicker. Only way to find out if therell be issues is if you convert your stuff to CHD and then convert a multi track bin/cue to CHD if your stuff breaks. The problem comes when trying to play playstation roms I have tried with both cores Beetle PSX HW & PCSX Rearmed, but none of t Hello i am new with Retroarch, and it is working fine with most of cores / content. I've used mostly the Crop "All borders" which works 95% of the time. As discussed the most important for now on pi4 is to be sure Renderer is "Software", "alsathread" has to be enabled (sorted as per your PR) and Apply Compatibility settings must be switched "ON". Settings-wise I've used pretty much default values. I'd prefer somebody else to confirm these issues first to be 100% sure it's not my setup. The emulators are also available in the Flatpak store. If you want emulation under one program, I recommend Retroarch with Beetle PSX HW and Mupen64Plus-Next cores for the respective systems. If you're interested I leave to your hands what I reported in my 1st post, if you want to report the "issues without fix" to the author please feel free to do so. If youre looking for standalone emulators, duckstation covers PSX and simple64 covers N64. ![]() I've deleted lr-PCSX-ReARMed from the system given all games play fullspeed and without glitches (except for the 1 or 2 games reported). I've updated my first post with some findings but the emulator perfectly works (at least on pi4 - stock). So far I've tested ~550 games and it went very well as stated earlier. ![]()
